The southeast of England is expected to experience the most noticeable rise in temperatures, with clear skies and prolonged sunny spells marking a welcome departure from the chilly winter months. Cities like Cambridge are forecasted to hit highs of 18C, surpassing the temperatures in traditionally warm locations like southern Spain and Portugal.
Friday saw the UK’s warmest day of the year so far, with Suffolk recording 19C. Londoners can look forward to continued sunshine, with forecasts predicting at least four more days of mild, dry weather.

While much of the UK will enjoy bright and dry conditions, some areas will experience less favorable weather. Wales, southwest England, and Northern Ireland will likely have cloud coverage and scattered showers.
Met Office forecaster Stephen Dixon states, “Good sunny spells on Saturday should feel pleasant for many, although this trend is fairly unusual for this time of year.”

Extended Forecast: Mild Start, Cooler Midweek
The Met Office predicts largely dry and bright conditions through Monday. However, a shift is expected by Tuesday, with overnight rain giving way to cooler air. Forecasters caution that while temperatures will start off mild, a significant drop is expected by Tuesday.

Despite the warm spell in the southeast, the forecaster cautions that not all parts of the UK will experience beach-worthy weather. “Western areas, including Wales and parts of northwest and southwest England, will see more cloud cover and some patchy rain,” Dixon explained.
