Area-Wide Heatwave Alerts

The rising heat and increasing humidity have put the entire region of South Bengal on notice. A heatwave advisory that was imposed beginning on Wednesday for numerous southern areas adds to the agony.

Conditions Anticipated

The Alipore Meteorological Department predicts that from April 15 to April 19, dry westerly and north-westerly winds will likely produce hot conditions that last. During this time, South Bengal may get 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above average temperatures.

Concerns About Humidity

Humidity levels in South Bengal are predicted to range from 80 to 90 percent in coastal areas and from 70 to 80 percent in other districts. The discomfort brought on by the heat could be made worse by these humid conditions.

Alerts Specific to a District

A yellow alert has been issued for several districts, including East and West Midnipur, Jhargram, South 24 Parganas, Purulia, Bankura, and East and West Burdwan, in anticipation of heatwave conditions. During this time, discomfort would also be felt in other parts of South Bengal.

These are hot days in South Bengal, so drink plenty of water and shield yourself from the sun.
